Intro to Black-and-White Analog Photography:
Begins June 19th, 2019
Wednesdays, 6pm to 8pm, plus open studio Sundays, 9am to noon
Taught by Bakery member Jon Tobiasz, this six-week class is open to students of all ages. Designed for beginners, but open to those with some prior experience, it covers all the basics: manual camera operation, film exposure and development, darkroom printing techniques, plus supportive critique of work created. In addition to six classes on Wednesday evenings, there will be an open lab on Sundays, from 9am to 12pm.
Manual 35mm film camera and lens, or medium-format film camera. (If you do not have either, the Bakery may have some loaner cameras available.)
To get started, the Bakery will provide each student with a Ilford Multigrade IV RC DeLuxe Paper and HP5 Plus Film Value Pack. After that, you are responsible for your own paper and film, available at Hunt’s Photo & Video and Photo Market, as well as B&H online.
Copies of Henry Horenstein’s Black & White Photography will be available to borrow through the duration of the class.
