Our organization is a not-for-profit self-service darkroom facility located in Westbrook , Maine . It consists of 20 commercial and fine art photographers who share a passion for the photographic arts. With no paid employees the Collective functions solely on the volunteer efforts of its members and interns. Included in our mission, is a shared desire to partner with the community.
Our accomplishments include workshops and classes in all the photographic arts, youth programs, a lecture series hosting local and nationally recognized photographers, an artist residency program offering darkroom time for visiting photographers and projects with museums and local art organizations.
We are open to the public four days a week for both digital and traditional darkroom rental.
